Discuss Your Screw Capping Project

Match the Tightening Process to Your Package

Start with a filled container, its closure and the required opening behavior. Review thread engagement, liner compression and container support together. These determine what a successful trial must demonstrate.

What Does a Screw Capper Control?

The tightening station rotates a compatible closure while restraining the container. A useful acceptance plan covers application torque, removal torque after storage, cap alignment and damage. Agree the test method before comparing proposed machines.

Review Your Closure Geometry

Flat caps

Provide thread and liner drawings together with cap diameter.

Sports tops

Check clearance above the cap and the grip surface available to the tooling.

Press tops

Identify the tightening surface without loading the opening feature.

Trigger sprayers

Include the dip tube, trigger orientation and feeding constraints.

Tamper-evident closures

Check the band before and after application and during the first opening.

Chuck and Spindle Arrangements

Chuck tooling

A head engages the cap. Confirm centering, contact material and access for changing the chuck.

Spindle wheels

Wheels contact the cap as the container passes through. Review wheel pressure, grip belts and the response to dimensional variation.

Choose the Loading Sequence

Automatic operation

Define how loose caps are replenished and oriented, then coordinate delivery with container spacing. Operators still need access to clear interruptions.

Semi-automatic operation

Document manual cap placement, container loading and the cycle-start control. Evaluate reach and changeover against the expected batch size.

Discuss Your Screw Capping Project

Measure the Improvement

Compare trials using the same package: record accepted containers, damaged bands, crooked caps, operator time and stoppages. Include restart and format-change samples so an average output figure does not hide rejected closures.

Select a Configuration for a Sample Trial

Glass bottles

Review aluminum closure geometry and neck finish before choosing rotary tooling.

Threaded plastic closures

Assess spindle contact, container restraint and cap deformation.

Vacuum glass jars

Specify filled temperature, headspace and the vacuum check after cooling.

Inspect the Capping Station

Chuck head

Check the cap contact surface and quick-change access.

Spindle disks

Record the adjustment position for each format.

Sorter and feeder

Test orientation using a representative batch of loose closures.

Cap chute

Inspect cap release and the transition onto the container.

Conveyor and grip belts

Support the package without distorting its walls.

Drive and gearbox

Coordinate the transfer and tightening speeds.

Pulleys

Confirm belt access and guarding.

Shafts and sprockets

Review transmission guards and maintenance clearance.

Follow the Package Through the Machine

  1. Replenish and orient closures, or prepare them for manual placement.
  2. Place the closure squarely onto the container neck.
  3. Restrain the container and apply the agreed tightening action.
  4. Inspect the finished closure and transfer the package onward.

Include missing-cap, cross-thread and jam recovery in the trial. Approved demonstration video is pending.

Agree the Inspection Record

Material selection

List grades and component brands in the quotation.

Part dimensions

Identify critical dimensions on approved drawings.

Assembly

Check alignment and adjustment repeatability.

Final inspection

Review wiring, guarding and stop controls.

Loaded trial

Use filled containers and production closures.

Extended running

Agree duration and record interruptions.

Dispatch preparation

Document cleaning and transport protection.

Request Equipment Documents

Ask for documentation tied to the proposed machine and destination. Verified Deepack certificates are pending; reference-company certificates are not Deepack evidence.

Define Your Project Priorities

Changeovers

List format frequency and required change parts.

Closure condition

Define acceptable marking and tamper-band integrity.

Controls

Specify interface language and adjustment permissions.

Service access

Reserve space around feeders and tightening stations.

Review the Filled Product

Describe the contents, filling temperature, headspace and container material. Food, beverage, chemical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical projects need different acceptance checks. Package samples determine compatibility; an industry label is insufficient.

Prepare Your Screw Capping Specification

Requirements

Send cap and neck drawings, filled weight, output target and layout.

Configuration

Agree tooling, materials, electrical components and machine footprint.

Design approval

Review the proposed drawing and operator access before manufacture.

Production and acceptance

Confirm the build specification and evaluate representative samples against the agreed criteria.

Coordinate the Line

Map cap replenishment, container infeed, tightening and downstream inspection. Set the response to a stopped downstream conveyor and confirm how operators resume production without releasing unchecked packages.

Project Evidence

Verified Deepack screw-capping case studies and customer permissions are awaiting confirmation. Request available project evidence for your package.

Screw Capping Questions

Which samples are needed?

Provide filled containers, loose closures and drawings for every format, including the smallest and largest tolerances.

Does tightening establish leak performance?

Agree a separate package test with the closure supplier. Torque alone does not verify every sealing requirement.

Can one setting cover every size?

Validate each cap and container combination, then document its tooling and adjustment settings.
